BJP floor leader in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly P Vishnu Kumar Raju created a mild stir when he said that the party leaders would meet YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy during his visit to the city as part of Praja Sankalpa Yatra.
Speaking to media along with State BJP president and Visakhapatnam MP K Haribabu at Amaravati on Monday night, he said that the BJP was the loser due to its pact with the TDP in the 2014 general elections. The remarks of Hindupur MLA N Balakrishna on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during CM Chandrababu Naidu’s one-day fast were condemnable, he said. The BJP would have won 20 MLA and 10 MP seats had it not the pact with the TDP in the last elections, he said, adding that there was no question of the TDP coming to power in 2019 elections.
Raju also felt that there would be defections from TDP to YSRCP from May 15 this year. Some TDP leaders dared him to book CBI cases against them and ‘their wish will be fulfilled shortly, he stated.Chandrababu’s Deeksha is over, leaving the State Rs 20 crore poorer, he commented, adding that the one-day fast of the Chief Minister was organised only to derive political mileage and in no way benefited the public.
Haribabu accused Chandrababu of opting for the special package and now changing the tune. He should explain to the people why he had opted for the package in the first place, he said. The TDP should try to regain the confidence of the public instead of resolving that it would dethrone the BJP at the Centre by joining the hands with the Congress party which is ridiculous, he felt. The new president of State BJP would be nominated shortly. We did not admit anybody with the promise of giving them the president’s post.
